apa film experience at sundance/slamdance


This week, all eyes of the indie film world turn towards Park City, Utah, as hordes of filmmakers, cinephiles and industry types descend upon the otherwise sleepy ski town for the Sundance Film Festival, running January 17-27, and the not-so-slick, lesser-touted rival festival, Slamdance.

It's the Asian Pacific Film Experience, baby. If you're headed out to Park City this week, you are invited to a special annual gathering in honor of APA and Asian filmmakers at the festival, put together by Asian CineVision, Visual Communications, Center for Asian American Media, San Diego Asian Film Foundation, Process Space, DC Asian Pacific American Film, APA First Weekend Club, and David Magdael & Associates. It's a celebration and show of solidarity, with plenty of food and drink, and a chance to meet and greet fellow filmmakers in the community:

It's gonna be fun. I took part in the festivities last year, and had a really great time. Amidst all the madness of Sundance, it's great to see the APA film community coming together to support its own at the festival.
