another chink's in philadelphia

Chink's Steaks is back. Actually, it never really went away. Some controversy flared up a couple of years back over the historic Philadelphia eatery's name, which has been around for years. There was campaign to get the name changed, but it eventually just died down... and Chink's remained. Business as usual.

The story goes, "Chink" was the childhood nickname given to the restaurant's late former owner Samuel Sherman, apparently because his friends thought he had "slanted eyes." Thus, Chink's Steaks. Now, there's news that Chink's current owner, Joseph Groh, will be opening an additional location in March: Chink's Steaks coming to South Philly. Great. Another Chink's in Philadelphia. There appears to be another fight to be waged, my friends...
