children of invention to premiere at sundance

Great news. A few weeks back, I mentioned that I was really looking forward to seeing Tze Chun's debut feature film Children of Invention, which he shot and completed this year. I just heard from producer Mynette Louie, who informs me that Children of Invention will be premiering in the "Spectrum" category next month at the Sundance Film Festival. This is huge news.

In Children of Invention, two young children living illegally in a
model apartment outside Boston are left to fend for themselves when
their hardworking mother disappears. The film is loosely based on Tze Chun's own Sundance '07 short Windowbreaker, which earned him a spot on Filmmaker Magazine's annual "25 New Faces of Independent Film" list.

Here is indieWIRE's coverage of the "Spectrum" films at Sundance '09: Fewer Star Driven Premieres, Larger Spectrum Section on Sundance Non-competition Roster. To learn more about Children of Invention, visit the temporary website here, and the film's Facebook page here. For those heading out to Park City next month, be sure to check out this film.
