Manny Pacquiao has done it again. This time, it was big. In what was touted as the biggest fight of the year, the Filipino boxer completely dominated Oscar De La Hoya, beating and battering him for eight rounds before De La Hoya called it quits: Pacquiao wins in eighth round over De La Hoya. It wasn't even close. From the opening bell, a faster, stronger (and younger) Pacquiao completely overwhelmed the 10-time champion, bruising his face and giving him a swollen left eye before De La Hoya decline to come out of his corner after the eighth round. And of course, they were celebrating like crazy in the Philippines: Philippines celebrate Pacquiao's victory. President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo apparently called Pacquiao to congratulate him on his victory. I thought this story was pretty amusing: PNP anticipates zero crime rate during Pacquiao-De la Hoya match. He is the man, and he's made his nation proud.
