remember that captain nemo movie?

I don't know how, but it seems like Will Smith has found a way to get mentioned in every other post around here, between news about Karate Kid and Oldboy remakes... So, remember the news about the proposed 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea movie I mentioned last week? I wondered who would play Captain Nemo, since according to literary tradition, the character is of Indian ancestry.

Alas, we're talking about Hollywood. Forget I even asked. Director McG has apparently ben putting the word out that he really really wants none other than Will Smith for the role: Will Smith To Star In McG's Undersea Adventure? He is, after all, Hollywood's most bankable movie star. Never mind Jules Verne, I guess. And forget an Indian Captain Nemo. (Thanks, Jason.)
