big-ass video collection finds a home

Here's an interesting follow-up to the story of Yongman Kim, who, when we last heard was looking for someone to take his giant-ass movie collection off his hands.

After over 20 years in business, times were changing, it was time to shut the doors to Kim's Video -- an East Village institution -- and Kim was looking for a buyer to take his impressive, eclectic 55,000-film collection in its entirety.

After a long search, it looks like he's found a buyer worthy to be the keeper of the collection... all the way in Salemi, Sicily: La Dolce Video. Sadly, the massive movie collection is leaving our shores, but it appears to be in good hands.
