Film fans, here's an opportunity to meet one of the intriguing figures in Korean cinema: Park Chan-Wook, director of such films as Oldboy, JSA and Thirst. Palisades Tartan is currently running a contest to win a trip to London for two to attend the U.K. premiere of Thirst and have lunch with Mr. Park:
Palisades Tartan will pay for the lucky winner and their guest to travel to London to attend the THIRST premier. This will be hosted by our theatrical partners, Metrodome Distribution, at the Curzon Soho on Monday October 5th 2009. Once the winner arrives, a personal driver will be waiting to chauffer them and their companion to a beautiful hotel located in the center of London. Park Chan-wook will be at the premier and lucky winners can look forward to enjoying lunch with him the following day. Meals will also be covered, but don't expect live octopus on any of the menus.I've actually met Mr. Park before, and considering the kinds of films he makes, he is surprisingly normal. The contest runs through 11:59 PM PST September 27th and the winners will be chosen at random and notified on or before September 30th. It's open to both U.S. and U.K. residents.
