2nd annual national asian american theater festival



Hey, theater fans. The 2nd annual National Asian American Theater Festival is happening this week, October 13-18 in New York City. The festiva features 17 new scripts, dance-theatre, performative panels, a silent monologue, a musical and a non-classical classic.

Shows include Shishir Kurup's Sharif Don't Like It and Assimilation (presented together); Sheetal Gandhi's Bahu-Beti-Biwi; Labfest III, readings of new plays presented by the Ma-Yi Writers Lab; Imelda, a new musical about Imelda Marcos; Anton Chekhov's The Seagull with an all-Asian American cast; and APACUNT (Alice Tuan, Kristina Wong, Soo-Jin Lee & Katie Pearl).
