By now (man, it has been a slow news week), you've heard of the Salahis, the uninvited Washington D.C. couple that brazenly crashed last week's state dinner at the White House, held in honor of visiting Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Heard it was a totally awesome party.

So these two nobodies snuck themselves into the White House dinner. Unfortunately, The Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi, who is of Brown descent, could not do the same. Contrary to news reports, he wasn't at the state dinner... but did receive an invite to the State Department lunch earlier that day. Definitely not the same. At least he got to meet Kal Penn. Again.

Wanna get into the White House? You just have to be a white guy with a tux and a hot blonde wife. Reality show wannabes... Just the latest couple of celebrity-by-any-means-necessary fame whores in a long line of Balloon Boys. Here's a good article (with some choice quotes from Yul Kwon): Reality TV attracts, um, larger-than-life characters.
