man charged with murder of woman and unborn twins

This week in Los Angeles, 22-year-old Boneetio Washington, a former mental patient, was charged with the rape and murder of 39-year-old Eun Kang, who was four months pregnant with twins: Man charged with killing LA woman, unborn twins.

Washington appeared in court on Thursday, but his arraignment was postponed until December 17. He could potentially face the death penalty: Fmr. Mental Patient Charged With Murder of Woman, Unborn Twins.

He faces three counts of capital murder of Kang and her unborn children. The charges include the special circumstances of multiple murders, murder during a rape and murder during a burglary, as well as one count of rape and one count of sexual penetration.

Kang, who owned a dry cleaning business in Beverly Hills, was attacked about 10:00pm on Tuesday in her apartment. A neighbor saw the suspect go into the woman's apartment and called police, who arrested the suspect as he was leaving the apartment.

Police believe Kang may have been bringing groceries in from her car at the time she was attacked. She was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. More here: Venice landlord describes attack on victim of rape-slaying.
