more the amazing betty chinn

Here's an Examiner.com article on Betty Chinn, winner of the 2010 Presidential Citizens Medal, who has honored for her service helping the homeless in her community for over twenty years: Reader response interview with 2010 Citizens Medal award winner Betty Chinn.
Ms. Chinn loads up her catering truck every morning with coffee and doughnuts, and seeks out the disenfranchised who live on the streets of Eureka, California. In the afternoon, she heads out again to feed dinner to about 200 people. According to Ms. Chinn, many of those living under bridges and in bushes are veterans. In addition, a majority of the homeless she encounters suffer from mental illness.

Ms. Chinn has given to others selflessly for over two decades and rain or shine, and said she plans to continue her mission of giving back to the people and the country she loves.
In the article, Ms. Chinn responds to questions submitted by readers. She sounds like a pretty darn amazing woman. To learn more and donate to the Betty Chinn Homeless Fund, Betty's House or Reach Out Humboldt, go here.
