ABOUT THE CONTEST: Calling all artists! The Korematsu Institute is looking for a logo design to commemorate Fred Korematsu's legacy. The winning design will be used on the Korematsu Institute website as well as on t-shirts and posters to celebrate California's first Fred Korematsu Day on January 30, 2011. This is the first official day named after an Asian American in US history! The ideal logo will be an image that inspires others, so it is essential for applicants to read and understand Fred Korematsu's story and why it is so relevant today.
ELIGIBILITY: The entrant must be enrolled in a public or private high school or university program in California. If the applicant is a minor (under the age of 18) on the date of submission, the submission must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian of the minor. By participating, the minor's legal guardian or parent is agreeing to the rules of this logo competition on behalf of the applicant.
AWARD: The winner of the contest will receive a T-shirt with the printed logo design and a $500 gift certificate to the Apple store!!
DEADLINE: Entries must be received by Monday, November 8, 2010, at 8am PST.
