What, another film festival? Yep. We're just about plunging into a very busy fall festival season. And you know I'm a sucker film festivals. As a supporter of Asian and Asian American cinema, I just appreciate the opportunity for independent films to get screened in communities all around North America.

Thus, this weekend in Los Angeles: ID Film Fest 2010. Now it's third year, IDFF is a unique cinema festival of Asian / Asian American film presentations and workshops. It's happening October 8-10 at the National Center for the Preservation of Democracy in Little Tokyo. Watch the festival trailer:



ID Film Fest will open with the Los Angeles premiere of Kit Hui's Fog, starring Terrence Yin and Eugenia Wan. Acclaimed Japanese director Hirokazu Koreeda's magical realist tale Air Doll is slated as the fest's Centerpiece film, and the award-winning drama The Things We Carry closes the festivities out. ID Film Fest. A 3-day weekend of Asian / Asian American films and workshop events.

WHERE:
All events of IDFF will take place in downtown Los Angeles at the National Center for the Preservation of Democracy (NCPD)

Off 1st St., right next to the Japanese American National Museum.

WHEN:
Friday October 8th - Sunday October 10th.

HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?:
$10 per program ($5 for Japanese American National Museum Members).
$30 for a VIP Pass With Access to All Programs.

ABOUT ID FILM FEST:
ID Film Fest, a program of the Japanese American National Museum, is set to kickoff on Friday October 8, 2010 through October 10, 2010 in Little Tokyo, Downtown Los Angeles. This unique cinema festival - a weekend of Asian / Asian American film presentations and workshops, will open with the Los Angeles premiere of the critically acclaimed film Kit Hui's FOG, starring Terrence Yin and Eugenia Wan. Hirokazu Koreeda's much talked about film AIR DOLL is slated as the fest's Centerpiece film and Ian McCrudden's THE THINGS WE CARRY will close out the three-day movie feast.
