Hip-hop dance fans nationwide will have reason to rejoice as MTV announced today the greenlight for the hit reality dance competition series from Warner Horizon Television “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew.” Season Six is scheduled to premiere April 2011 with casting underway in January. The network is searching the country to find the next group of aspiring street dance crews to showcase their edgy and innovative moves for a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to become America’s best dance crew. Auditions will be held in cities nationwide and fans can visit DanceCrew.MTV.com or call 877-919-crew (2739) for additional information. As you know, I'm a pretty big fan of the show. Not only is it a fun opportunity to see some great dancing (sorry, Dancing With The Stars just isn't my thing), but it has also become an unexpected showcase for Asians to kick ass. For the last five seasons, all of the champions have been crews prominently featuring Asian dancers. And they've been pretty amazing.
JaabaWockeeZ. Supercrew. Quest. We Are Heroes. Poreotix. Who will be next crew to join these champs? And can we keep up this Asian domination? I wouldn't mind. Does your crew have what it takes? There doesn't appear to be any audition information yet, but check back at MTV's ABDC website later.
