The contest donates money to the charity of the winner's choice, and Michelle's charity is Bruin Initiative, an academic program for underserved high school students she founded with her sister during her first year of college. Here's a little blurb about her accomplishments:

Los Angeles, CA
Coming from a single-parent immigrant family, Michelle was empowered to create the Bruin Initiative, a program that offers free SAT and college preparation classes for underserved high school students from inner-city Los Angeles. While she is still in school, Michelle, her sister and their network of volunteers work together to bring students 10 weeks of SAT prep and college application help. In the last four years, the Bruin Initiative has had a 100% success rate in boosting these students' SAT scores and getting them into the colleges of their choice.
It's all for great cause. Check out this Facebook event page Michelle's supporters put together: VOTE 4 MICHELLE - Glamour Magazine Contest. For more information about about the contest, and to vote for Michelle here.
