angry reader of the week: thomas belfer

Hey! It's time to meet another Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Thomas Belfer, who I met during my recent travels to the Claremont Colleges.

Who are you?
I'm a Senior at Pitzer College double majoring in Media Studies (digital/electronic track) and Japanese who also happens to be searching for employment…any takers?

What are you?
Queer mixed-race Asian American Jew. YouTube addict *insert shameless plug for my channel*. Closet otaku. Media buff. Gleek. Intern at Asian and Pacific Islanders California Action Network and the Japanese American Citizens League.

Where are you?
I'm currently in my dorm room, on a campus full of cacti, in Claremont, California.

Where are you from?
I grew up in Hong Kong and spent most my life living in Tai Tam on the south side of the island.

What do you do?
When I'm not drowning in various readings and assignments for class, I'm dedicating myself to being the Head Sponsor of the Asian Pacific American Coalition at my college, promoting intercultural understanding and social justice, and hoping to somehow turn the doodles in my notebook into a career. Also notice my uncanny skill in writing run-on sentences.

What are you all about?
Making the world a better place through art, stories, and candy.

What makes you angry?
Heteronormativity, racism, sexism, a lot of other "ism"s. Closed mindedness. Cold and rainy weather. People who sing Rebecca Black's "Friday" song around me. Brownies that don't taste good. Pencil sharpeners that just keep on breaking your graphite. Tone deaf people at Karaoke. Sarah Ching when she tries to give me hugs... just kidding on that last one. She's a lovely person and friend.
