Congratulations to IaMmE, the season six winners of America's Best Dance Crew! I've been so busy, I neglected to blog about the show this season, but you I've been a fan since season one, and rest assured I've been following along. As you know, ABDC has been a pretty prominent showcase for Asian representation from its start. Were they holding it down in season six?
No joke, I had IaMmE pegged to win from the very beginning, and indeed, in Sunday night's finale, the crew from Houston, TX -- whose membership includes Di "Moon" Zhang (remember this?) -- beat ICONic Boyz to take the ABDC crown, finally breaking the west coast's stranglehold on the competition. By the way, how cool was it to see them do a routine to Far East Movement's "Rocketeeer"?
The evening included some kickass performances from all five of the previous seasons' winners -- JabbawockeeZ (holy crap), Super Cr3w, Quest Crew, We Are Heroes and Poreotix. You can watch the finale, as well as all of this season's episodes, on MTV's ABDC website here.
