2011 d.c. apa film festival, october 6-15

Heads up, D.C. films lovers. Be sure to make plans to check out the 12th Annual DC APA Film Festival, a showcase of all the great stuff happening right now in Asian American cinema. Dance flicks, romantic comedies, dramas, shorts, documentaries... there's something for everybody! It's happening October 6-15 at venues around Washington D.C. Here's the festival trailer:

Good times! The festival kicks off with the Opening Night screening of Stephane Gauger's dance drama Saigon Electric on Thursday, October 6 at Landmark E Street Cinema. Make sure you buy your tickets -- last year's opening night film sold out. Don't be left out in the cold like a sucka.

The festival will also be screening a lot of wonderful films that I'm a big fan of, like the documentaries Big in Bollywood, The LuLu Sessions and House of Suh, as well as a bunch of great narrative features and shorts. And things close out on October 15 with the feature presentation of Surrogate Valentine.

Good times all around. For more information about the 2011 DC APA Film Festival, including ticket sales and the full schedule of films and events, head over to the festival website here.
