san francisco police seek help identifying elderly victim



In San Francisco, police have arrested a man on drunk driving charges in connection with an accident that left an elderly woman in critical condition. However, they still haven't been able to identify the victim: Hospital releases photo of unidentified elderly woman critically injured in Van Ness crash.

41-year-old Douglas Perine was charged with driving under the influence when struck and injured an unidentified elderly woman on June 8.

Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying the victim, who is currently in critical condition at San Francisco General Hospital:
The woman was admitted to San Francisco General Hospital on June 8 around 11:30 p.m. after she was hit by a car at the corner of Vallejo Street and Van Ness Avenue, hospital spokeswoman Rachael Kagan said.

She is described as an Asian woman in her 70s or 80s with gray hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds.

She remains in critical condition and has been unable to tell staff her name. Other efforts to identify her have been unsuccessful, Kagan said.
