Heunae Chang died of severe burns after being intentionally set on fire at her home in Sylmar. Her son, 25-year-old Philip Chang, was originally booked for attempted murder while she was still alive, but there will no doubt be new charges pending an investigation:
Heunae Chang was "intentionally set on fire" Saturday morning and had been clinging to life, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement.Police haven't release any further details on a motive, or how the victim was killed. She died Thursday morning. Officers found the woman in her home in 12000 block of Via Santa Marta.
Her 25-year-old son, Phillip Chang, was arrested at the home on suspicion of murder. He was being held in lieu of $1 million bail, the LAPD said.
