They are looking for a for a few good men to compete in the eight annual Mr. Hyphen pageant, a community fundraiser highlighting leaders and advocates within the Asian American community.
It's all going down April 19 in San Francisco. The worthy one crowned Mr. Hyphen 2014 will win a $2,000 cash prize benefiting the nonprofit organization of his choice. Do you have what it takes? Apply now! Glory awaits.

I have the honor of serving on judges panel, along with my pal Konrad Ng, Director of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Program.
Seeking fame and riches...for your community? Hyphen Magazine has got you covered. The 8th Annual Mr. Hyphen Community Fundraiser will be on April 19. We’ve just released the application to find our 5 finalists for 2014!
This is a competition like no other - our finalists will represent leaders and advocates within the Asian American community, competing in talent, fashion and Q&A rounds. With the help of our sponsors, Facebook and Asian Art Museum, the one crowned Mr. Hyphen 2014 will win a $2,000 cash prize benefiting the nonprofit of his choice. This year’s judge panel will feature Konrad Ng, Director of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Program, Phil Yu of the blog Angry Asian Man, among others.
This year, to ensure everyone walks away with something, there will be an additional fundraising aspect to the event. We want this to be an opportunity to highlight the work each finalist has done for their causes. Before the show, finalists will create fundraising pages to collect gifts for the nonprofits of their choice, and the totals will be taken into account by judges. Hyphen will keep a small portion of these funds.
