I am jealous of anyone who's been able to watch the new Broadway musical Allegiance, currently in previews at The Longacre Theatre. Inspired by George Takei's true-life experience in an internment camp, Allegiance follows one family's extraordinary journey through wrongful imprisonment during World War II.
Allegiance stars George Takei as Sam Kimura/Ojii San, Lea Salonga as Kei Kimura and Telly Leung as Sammy Kimura; with book by Marc Acito, Jay Kuo, and Lorenzo Thione and music and lyrics by Jay Kuo.

Meanwhile, Uncle George and Co. have been chronicling the long journey to open Allegiance on Broadway in the fascinating behind-the-scenes documentary webseries Trek to Broadway. In Episode 6: You Could Drive A Person Crazy, the saga continues as the show laboriously cranks through exhaustive tech rehearsals, with the clock ticking as the production hurtles towards previews.

If you're in New York City, Allegiance is now playing at Broadway's Longacre Theatre. Ticket are available now. For further information, visit the show's website and follow updates on Facebook.
