Welcome to Your Worst Vietnamese Nail Salon Nightmare

Music video for Skylar Spence's "I Can't Be Your Superman" is a toxic chemical gangster fever dream.

Well. This did not go the way I thought it would. I'm rubbing my eyes after watching this wild-ass music video for "I Can't Be Your Superman" by Skylar Spence. Directed by Maegan Houang, it starts out as what seems like a fairly middle-of-the-road setup with some Asian criminal types shaking down a Vietnamese nail salon. Then it becomes... something else. Without giving anything away, it transforms into the weirdest shit ever.

I... enjoyed it? I enjoyed it. Just take a look:

I told you it was weird. And kind of frightening. And kind of awesome. It's sort of a nightmare nail salon spin on Daft Punk's "Around the World" music video. With Asian gangsters, toxic chemicals and dancing finger nails.

(For real though, nail techs are exposed some pretty potent chemicals on a regular basis.)

Film after hours at Elite Nails in Norwalk, California, the video stars Kira Kim, Phi Truong, Eddie Yu, Jared Egusa, James Tang and Jinkai Huang. Special props goes to whoever made those giant finger heads.
