Last week in Queens, Kevin M. Brown was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for beating two Asian men with a car's antitheft steering lock last August. One of the men suffered lacerations and loosened teeth, and the other a possible skull fracture. Brown, the son of a cop, pleaded guilty in State Supreme Court on January 17 to second-degree assault as a hate crime: Queens: Man Sentenced for Bias Attack. And more here: Bias beating lands him in jail. While Brown initially tried to deny it was a hate crime, a witness apparently hear him yelling, "You goook, stay out of our neighborhood."
