justin lin at the asian american international film festival

This is for my people in NYC... As you may have heard, the 30th Asian American International Film Festival kicks off in a few weeks, opening with the New York premiere Justin Lin's mockumentary Finishing the Game, a comedy about the search for a replacement Bruce Lee. As part of the fun, the festival is presenting a special conversation with Justin Lin: IN FOCUS: JUSTIN LIN. Friday, July 20th, 6:00pm at Kimmel Center, Eisner & Lubin Auditorium at NYU. Justin will be talking about his path from indie roots to big-time blockbusters, and back again. I'll be there to serve as moderator. We'll also be joined by stars Roger Fan and Sung Kang for the Q&A. So, mark your calendars, because it should be a fun time. The event will co-presented by A/P/A Institute, New York University and Museum of Chinese in the Americas. For more information, go here. The Asian American International Film Festival runs July 19-28.

If you're in New York, I really really want you all to come out to this... so, how about a ticket giveaway? I've partnered up with AAIFF to give away five pairs of tickets to attend the talk with Justin Lin on Friday, July 20th, then catch the 10:00pm screening of Finishing the Game later that evening. All you have to do is answer this simple question: If you made a fake Bruce Lee movie (i.e. "Fists of Fuhrer"), what would be its title? Be creative. There are no wrong answers. Email me your answer, along with your name, by the end of Monday, July 16th. Please be sure to include "AAIFF TICKETS" in the subject line. I'll throw all the entries into hat, pick five winners at random, and we'll all have a fun time. Dig? One entry per person, please.
