Here's a Los Angeles Times story on the city's Chinatown, which was once the hub of Chinese American life in Los Angeles, but has lost much of its luster since its heyday in the 1940s: L.A.'s Chinatown tries to draw more nighttime visitors. While the neighborhood is still pretty vibrant during the day, but for many, becomes a virtual dead zone after dark. City officials and business leaders are struggling to change that, after years of failed revitalization projects and false starts. Chinatown needs some help returning to its glory days.
