reminder: apply to visual communications armed with a camera fellowship

Just wanted to toss out a reminder about Visual Communications' Armed With a Camera fellowship. This is a great opportunity for up-and-coming filmmakers to take part in a cool program to receive guidance and resources to hone their cinematic vision. The deadline to apply is October 1.

Visual Communications works with the Fellows for seven months and provides special training, mentoring and networking opportunities, access to facilities and equipment plus a $500 stipend to create five-minute digital shorts that premiere at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and other venues nationwide.

I know several talented individuals who happen to be former Armed With a Camera fellows. Here's a list of past AWC alumni and select video works. The annual showcase of Armed With a Camera works is consistently one of my favorite parts abuot the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.

This is a really valuable, wonderful program. Women, South Asian and Southeast Asian filmmakers are highly encouraged to apply to the AWC Fellowship. For more information on applicant elgibility, and guidelines on how to apply, go to the Visual Communications website here.
