one night only: the mini show, october 23


I recently heard from filmmaker Ming Lai, who invites you to attend The Mini Show, an art exhibition to raise money the Mini Lai Scholarship, featuring the work of Mark Ryden, the Clayton Brothers, Mark Todd, Tara McPherson, Tavis Coburn, Alex Gross, Jason Holley, Martha Rich and others. It's happening Saturday, October 23 at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.

The scholarship was founded by family and friends to honor the memory of Ming's sister, Mini Lai. Every year, the fund grants a $1,500 scholarship to a deserving illustration student at the Art Center College of Design. The scholarship will help students continue their studies, graduate from school, inspire their work, and build their careers. Here are some more details:

One night only. Saturday, October 23, 2010, 8:00-11:00 p.m.

A group art exhibition showcasing the work of Art Center College of Design (ACCD) illustration alumni and benefiting the Mini Lai Scholarship Fund.

100% of the proceeds of the artwork sales will go toward the fund, helping ACCD illustration students continue their studies, graduate from school, inspire their work, and build their careers. The show will feature high-quality, affordable artwork, priced at around $300 or less.

There will be also be a silent auction of a signed limited-edition MARK RYDEN poster.

Calbi BBQ will be serving food outside of the show. A percentage of the proceeds of their sales will go toward the fund.
