call the senate to support goodwin liu and edward chen

Got some information passed along to me by the Asian American Justice Center... After all this time, we're still waiting on the confirmations of Professor Goodwin Liu and Judge Edward M. Chen. With the Senate reconvening for its final legislative session of the year, this is a crucial time for their nominations. Here's what our community can do to help:
Call the Senate and Help Confirm
Professor Goodwin Liu and Judge Edward M. Chen

Take Action NOW! Tell Senators Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell that Professor Liu and Judge Chen must be confirmed before the end of the year!

It is a critical time for the nominations of Professor Goodwin Liu and Judge Edward M. Chen. The Senate has reconvened for its final legislative session of the year, and the Asian Pacific American community needs to let the Senate know that Professor Liu and Judge Chen must have an up or down vote on the Senate floor before the conclusion of the lame duck session.

ACT NOW!

Call Senators Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell:

Harry Reid: 202-224-3542
Mitch McConnell: 202-224-2541

When a staffer at the Senator's office picks up, introduce yourself and say:

"Hello, my name is _______. I'm calling Senator ____ to support the nominations of Goodwin Liu and Ed Chen. They are both very well-qualified and they deserve a vote in the Senate now! Asian Americans are vastly underrepresented in the federal judiciary, and the Asian American community supports both nominees. Professor Liu and Judge Chen are both nominated to seats that have been classified as judicial emergencies. Please give both nominees an up or down vote in the Senate before the end of the year."

It is a critical time for Professor Liu's nomination - tell Senate leaders to confirm Professor Liu now!
Together, we can send a message to the Senate that there must be an up or down vote on the Senate floor before the conclusion of the lame duck session. And for more information on these judicial nominee confirmations, go to CONFIRMNOW.org.
