stereotypical asian caricatures in banksy's simpsons storyboard sketches

Remember that crazy alternate opening credit sequence for The Simpsons, created by notorious graffiti artist Banksy, that raised a bit of a ruckus a little while back? Arrested Motion has posted the artist's preliminary sketches for the sequence: Creative Process: Banksy x Simpsons Intro Animation.

If you weren't a fan of the animated sequence that ultimately made it on television, you probably won't be too happy to learn that Banksy's depiction of the Asian animators were even more stereotypical -- slanted eyes, buck teeth, conical hats... You know, the cartoon shorthand for "ching chong."

Hard to believe that opening sequence could have been more f@#%ed up. (Thanks, Geraly.)
