suspects caught in connection with susie ko's murder

An update on the murder of Susie Ko, who was found dead last week at her home in Hercules, California... The missing family car, which was pretty much all investigators had to go on, was found yesterday near Seattle, and culprits caught: Escapee caught in Hercules woman's car.

24-year-old Darnell Washington and his wife 25-year-old Tania Washington were arrested in a suburb near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Darnell was wanted for breaking out of jail in Southern California and allegedly trying to kill a Los Angeles County deputy sheriff.

The suspects were arrested when a patrol officer noticed the 2011 Subaru Outback, called in the license number, and it came back reported stolen:

The Washingtons were found sitting in Ko's 2011 Subaru Outback parked near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, police said. A police officer ran the car's Washington license plate and found it had recently been stolen, according to the King County sheriff's office. Authorities believe the suspects put the plate on Ko's Subaru, which originally had Idaho license plates.

Tania Washington, who was behind the wheel, sped off as the officer approached around 9 a.m., authorities said. After police boxed the car in, she jumped into the back seat, Darnell Washington began driving and rammed police cars in an effort to escape, authorities said. Officers surrounded the car and took the couple into custody.
The suspects have not yet been charged with the stabbing death of Susie Ko. Officially, they are still "persons of interest." More here: Susie Ko slaying: Hercules detectives await interview with 'persons of interest.'.
