I became a fan of illustrator/comic book artist Yumi Sakugawa last year when she dropped this awesome comic, "Claudia Kishi: My Asian-American Female Role Model of the '90s," an epic tribute to her favorite fashionable character from The Babysitters Club. So I'm excited to check out her first published book I Think I Am In Friend-Love With You, based on the web comic of the same name, which hits bookstores this week.

I Think I Am In Friend-Love With You is available for pre-order on Amazon.
For those of you in Los Angeles, you're invited to Yumi's official book launch party with a reading and signing this Thursday, December 5 at Skylight Books. Here are some more details about the event:

Join us for the L.A. book launch party of I THINK I AM IN FRIEND-LOVE WITH YOU by comic book artist YUMI SAKUGAWA
Based on the viral web comic of the same name, I THINK I AM IN FRIEND-LOVE WITH YOU is a purely platonic(?) love letter to the super-awesome bond you share with someone you definitely want to hang out with and swap favorite books with, but definitely do not(?) want to swap saliva or hold hands with.
A book reading and presentation by the author will be followed by a signing.
** Event will be taking place in the SKYLIGHT BOOKS ANNEX, a separate space two doors down from the main SKYLIGHT BOOKS store. **
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
