Man killed after being shoved in front of subway train

Four people -- all of them Asian immigrants -- have been pushed in front of trains in less than two years.

In New York, police are searching for a suspect in connection with a deadly subway attack. On Sunday, a 61-year-old man was killed after being pushed off a Bronx subway platform in front of an oncoming train.

Routine Trip Turns Fatal as a Man Is Pushed in Front of a Subway Train

Wai Kuen Kwok was waiting with his wife at the 167th Street station in the Bronx, on their way to breakfast in Chinatown, when a stranger shoved him from behind onto the subway tracks as a D train pulled in. It was a seemingly random attack -- there were no words exchanged, no struggle, and it doesn't look like an attempted robbery. Kwok was struck and killed by the train as his wife, who was not injured, watched in horror.

The assailant was seen leaving the station just after the attack. According to police, he boarded a BX35 bus and then got off minutes later, entered a bodega and eventually left. Here's surveillance video of the suspect:

According to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, fifty people have been struck and killed by subway trains this year, including suicides and accidental falls. But as the New York Post points out, at least four people -- all of them Asian immigrants -- have been pushed in front of trains in less than two years.

In December 2012, 36-year-old Sunando Sen was fatally shoved in front of a No. 7 train in Queens. That same month, 58-year-old Ki Suk Han was killed after being pushed in front of a Q train at the 49th Street station in Times Square. Last November, 72-year-old Shou Kuan Lin was pushed in front of an A train in Harlem (he is brain dead and remains on life support).

What the f*ck?

Police are offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the attack on Mr. Kwok. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
