Lin joins Naomi Scott, the Pink Ranger, and Dacre Montgomery, the Red Ranger, in the upcoming feature film reboot of the iconic 1990s kids action series. His previous credits include a small role in Monster Hunt, China's highest-grossing film ever, and a role in the upcoming second season of Netflix's Marco Polo.
The studio made the announcement via Instagram:
Based in part on the Japanese TV show Super Sentai, the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers centered on a group of ordinary high school students who are bestowed with extraterrestrial superpowers to fight alien evil.
The reboot will be directed by Dean Israelite (Project Almanac), from a script written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, the screenwriting team behind X-Men: First Class.
The new Power Rangers is set to hit theaters in January 2017.
