'Fresh Off the Boat' star will reprise his role as Agent Jimmy Woo.
Jimmy Woo will be back! Randall Park will return to the Marvel universe in the upcoming Disney+ series WandaVision as FBI Agent Jimmy Woo, reprising his role from Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Details are scant, but the series will star Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen reprising their roles as Vision and the Scarlet Witch from the Marvel film franchise. And it's apparently going to be weird.
Marvel made the casting announcement Friday at the D23 Expo. The cast will also include Kat Dennings reprising her role as Darcy Lewis from the Thor movies, and Kathryn Hahn as a "nosy neighbor."
'Agents of SHIELD' star will appear in the highly anticipated 'Star Wars' live action series.
From Deadline: Ming-Na Wen, already a Disney staple as the voice of Mulan in the iconic original animated film and as a star of ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., has been confirmed as a cast member of The Mandalorian, the upcoming Star Wars universe series for Disney+.
Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed the news Friday during D23 Expo, where Wen was one of the recipients of the annual Disney Legends honors. No word about her role in The Mandalorian -- the first live-action Star Wars series -- but if you ask me, they're wasting everybody's time if her character isn't at least a little bit badass.
But here's the first official trailer for The Mandalorian:
'Warrior' star will play Snake Eyes' arch enemy in G.I. Joe spinoff.
Because you can't have a Snake Eyes without a Storm Shadow. Andrew Koji, star of Cinemax's Warrior, will play the ninja Storm Shadow in the G.I. Joe spinoff Snake Eyes. He'll star opposite Crazy Rich Asians breakout Henry Golding, who'll play the title role as Snake Eyes.
Directed by Robert Schwentke, from a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos, the story will reportedly center on Snake Eyes' origins where he tries to join a clan of shadowy ninja assassins.
'Snake Eyes' will focus on the origins on the fan-favorite character.
From The Hollywood Reporter: Paramount has found its ninja warrior. Crazy Rich Asians breakout Henry Golding is in negotiations to star in Snake Eyes, a G.I. Joe spinoff centered on the popular commando from Paramount in partnership with Skydance and AllSpark Pictures.
Robert Schwentke, who helmed two installments of the Divergent franchise, is directing the action project that has Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner among the producers.
Snake Eyes is the ninja commando that first appeared in the 1980s as part of Hasbro and Marvel Comics' relaunch of the toy line, dubbed G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero.
Rumor has it, the 'Crazy Rich Asians' star is being considered to play Namor the Sub-Mariner.
Wait, more Asians in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? No, I'm not talking about Shang-Chi. We covered that. I'm talking about rumors that Henry Golding might star as the new villain in Black Panther 2.
This is rumors of the rumorest kind, but rumor has it that Henry Golding, star of Crazy Rich Asians, is being considered for the role of Namor the Sub-Mariner in the sequel to Ryan Coogler's global hit 2018 movie.
'Kim's Convenience' actor will play the Master of Kung Fu in 'Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings.'
It's official. We have a Shang-Chi. Simu Liu will star as Marvel's Master of Kung-Fu in Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
The casting was announced Saturday afternoon at Marvel's highly anticipated Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, in which the studio announced continuing plans for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The cast of Shang Chi will also include Awkwafina and Tony Leung. Exclamation points!
Liu, who hails from Toronto, is best known for playing Jung on the hit Canadian sitcom Kim's Convenience, which recently wrapped its fourth season. He's also had various guest starring and recurring roles on Taken, The Expanse, Blood and Water, Fresh Off The Boat, and several Wong Fu films, among others.
Cho leads a diverse cast in Netflix's remake of the iconic anime series.
John Cho will star in as Spike Spiegel in the live action adaptation of the classic Japanese animated space western Cowboy Bebop, arguably the coolest damn show ever made. And now actually #StarringJohnCho.
Cowboy Bebop is "the jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts as they hunt down the solar system's most dangerous criminals," aboard their spaceship, the Bebop.
'Terrace House' star will make her acting debut as a mutant named Switch.
Lauren Tsai, perhaps best known as one of the housemates on the Japanese reality series Terrace House: Aloha State, has joined the third season of FX's Legion.
Based on the Marvel Comics series, Legion follows David Haller, a man who believed himself to be schizophrenic only to discover that he may actually be the most powerful mutant the world has ever seen.
In her acting debut, Tsai joins the series in the role of Switch, described as a young mutant whose secret ability serves as the key to executing Haller's plan. The third season of Legion is slated to air in 2019.
'The Walking Dead' actor returns to TV for Jordan Peele's reboot of the classic anthology series.
Steven Yeun in 'Sorry to Bother You'
Steven Yeun's post-Glenn career keeps chugging along. The Walking Dead and Burning star will lead an episode of director/producer Jordan Peele's upcoming Twilight Zone reboot for CBS All Access.
Details are pretty slim, but according to Collider, Yeun will play the title character in the series' fourth episode "The Traveler," which follows two cops and a mysterious traveler. Say no more. I'm in.
Like Rod Serling's classic anthology series, which originally ran on CBS from 1959 to 1964, Peele's revival will tell self-contained stories in every episode, leaning on science fiction, fantasy and horror to spin tales that hold a mirror up to ourselves and our society.
'Baby Cobra' comedian will play a supporting role in DC's female-centered superhero movie.
Ali Wong has nabbed a supporting role in the upcoming DC superhero movie Birds of Prey.
According to The Wrap, the Baby Cobra comedian will reportedly play an associate of Rosie Perez's Renee Montoya in the Gotham police force. I don't suppose there's any chance that she'll play a nunchuck-wielding superhero (or villain) actually named "Baby Cobra"? That would be fun.
Wong, who voiced Felony in Disney's animated hit Ralph Breaks the Internet, is currently a series regular on ABC's American Housewife, and released her second Netflix special Hard Knock Wife earlier this year. She also co-wrote and stars opposite Randall Park in the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy Always Be My Maybe.
Based on the New York magazine article "The Hustlers at Scores."
Crazy Rich Asians and Fresh Off The Boat star Constance Wu has signed on for a lead role as an enterprising stripper in the crime drama Hustlers, written and directed by Lorene Scafaria.
Based on the real-life story of some modern Robin Hoods, chronicled in the 2015 New York magazine article by Jessica Pressler entitled "The Hustlers at Scores," the film follows a crew of savvy former strip club employees who band together to turn the tables on their wealthy Wall Street clients.
The movie takes place in the late '00s in New York City in the wake of the financial crisis, and will focus on themes of identity, loyalty, survival and control.
Jennifer Lopez, who is also producing, is set to portray the ringleader to the group of ambitious women who take their plans too far. Wu's role hasn't been specified, but it's safe to assume she'll be playing to the lead role of Roselyn Keo, the real-life former stripper at the center of Pressler's article.
'The Good Place' star will play a pilot in 'Top Gun: Maverick'
He, too, has got the need for speed. Manny Jacinto, who plays the lovably not-so-bright Jason Mendoza on NBC's afterlife comedy The Good Place, has been cast in Top Gun: Maverick, as a pilot.
If you didn't know, yes, they are making a follow-up to 1986's Top Gun. Crank up the Kenny Loggins.
There aren't a lot of plot details about the long-awaited sequel, but Tom Cruise is apparently reprising his iconic role as Maverick Mitchell, now a Top Gun flight instructor serving as mentor to a new crop of elite fighter pilots.
Fresh Off the Boat star will play Billy Batson's friend Eugene.
Shazam! Heck yeah, we've got an Asian kid in this superhero flick. Ian Chen, who plays Evan on Fresh Off the Boat, has joined the cast of the movie Shazam!, based on the DC Comics superhero.
Starring Zachary Levi as the title character and Asher Angel as Billy Batson, the film center on Billy, a kid who can transform into an adult superhero by uttering the magic word "Shazam!"

Upcoming live action TV series based on the DC Comics title.
Looks like we have a Beast Boy! Ryan Potter has been cast in the series regular role of Beast Boy in Titans, the upcoming live-action TV series adaptation based on the popular DC Comics title.
Titans follows a group of "soon-to-be superheroes from every corner of the DC Universe." Recruited by Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites), this fearless band of new heroes includes Starfire (Anna Diop), Raven (Teagan Croft), and of course, Garfield "Gar" Logan, aka Beast Boy.
As a child, Gar contracted a lethal disease on an African safari with his geneticist parents, only to experience some "bizarre side effects" after being treated with an experimental drug. In addition to his skin and hair turning permanently green, the wisecracking, fun-loving Beast Boy is able to transform himself into animals of any size.
Former 'Hawaii Five-0' actor in talks to play Ben Daimio in 'Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen.'
What. Are you telling me that an Asian American character will be played by an actual Asian American actor? That's wild! Daniel Dae Kim will reportedly star as Major Ben Daimio in the upcoming Hellboy movie reboot.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kim is talks to step into the role of Ben Daimio in Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. Ed Skrein, who was originally signed on to play Daimio, dropped out of the project after an outcry over his casting -- yet another Asian character gets the Hollywood whitewash! In Mike Mignola's original Hellboy comic books, Daimio is Japanese American. Ed Skrein is... not.
This is more like it. Kim, who recently made headlines with his very public exit from Hawaii Five-0 after seven seasons, will play the severely scarred former marine officer who works for the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense. Due to supernatural encounter in the field, Daimio has the ability to transform into a monstrous, jaguar-like creature under extreme stress.
"It is our responsibility to make moral decisions in difficult times and to give voice to inclusivity."
Well, this is a surprise... Actor Ed Skrein has stepped down from his role in the upcoming Hellboy movie reboot after his casting set off massive outcry over yet another instance of Hollywood whitewashing.
News broke last week that Skrein had joined the cast of Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen as Major Ben Daimio, a character who is Asian American in the comic books. This, of course, unleashed all kinds of internet fury. A white guy takes a role that clearly should have gone to an Asian actor. We'd been down this road before.
But here's what we haven't seen: a white actor stepping down from a role out of conscience and solidarity. Skrein's exit from Hellboy has to be the first time an actor has removed himself from such a high-profile project in response to public criticism. Hey, Scarlett Johansson, take some notes.
Skrein announced that he was leaving the project on Twitter.

Lana Condor, last seen as Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse, is starring in the teen romantic comedy To All the Boys I've Loved Before, based on the novel by bestselling author Jenny Han.
Condor plays Lara Jean Covey, a romance novel buff who starts her junior year content to spend lunch in the library reading. Her love life goes from imaginary to out of control when her secret box of love letters is unexpectedly delivered to the various boys she's had crushes on throughout her life. To avoid confronting them, Lara Jean fakes a relationship with one of them -- but starts to realize that she may not be pretending.
The film, directed by Susan Johnson with a screenplay by Sofia Alvarez, has begun production in Vancouver.

'Fresh Off The Boat' star will play SHIELD Agent Jimmy Woo.
Fresh Off The Boat star Randall Park has joined the cast of Marvel's Ant-Man and The Wasp. No official word on his role, but there's strong speculation that he'll be playing SHIELD Agent Jimmy Woo.
Best known for playing Louis Huang on the hit ABC comedy, Park joins the follow-up to 2015's Ant-Man, directed by Peyton Reed and starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, a thief turned pint-sized superhero. Evangeline Lily, Michael Douglas and Michael Pena are also set to return.
'The Walking Dead' actor will appear alongside Tessa Thompson and Lakeith Stanfield.
We still cry for Glenn, but coming up, departed Walking Dead star Steven Yeun will star alongside Tessa Thompson and Lakeith Stanfield in the drama Sorry to Bother You from first-time director Boots Riley.
Written by Riley, the film centers on "a black telemarketer with self-esteem issues" who "discovers a magical key to business success, propelling him to the upper echelons of the hierarchy just as his activist comrades are rising up against unjust labor practices. When he uncovers the macabre secret of his corporate overlords, he must decide whether to stand up or sell out."
Fruitvale Station's Nina Yang Bongiovi and Forest Whitaker of Significant Productions are producing along with 6 Years' Jonathan Duffy and Kelly Williams, Charles D. King (Fences), George Rush (Bully).
No details on what Yeun will be doing in the film -- I'm going to assume he's not playing the black telemarketer -- but the talent involved, both in front and behind the camera, already has me interested. According to Deadline, Sorry to Bother You will start shooting later this month in Oakland.
Next up, you can see Steven Yeun in Bong Joon-ho's Okja, which premieres on Netflix on June 28.
'Glee' star will play Charlie Wu in the adaptation of Kevin Kwan's best-selling novel.
The epic cast of Crazy Rich Asians continues to grow, with Harry Shum Jr. joining the likes of Constance Wu, Gemma Chan and Michelle Yeoh in Warner Bros.' adaptation of Kevin Kwan's best-selling novel.
Crazy Rich Asians follows Rachel, an American-born Chinese economics professor, who travels to Nick's hometown of Singapore for his best friend's wedding, only to discover that Nick is heir to a massive fortune, he's perhaps he most eligible bachelor in Asia, and every single woman in his ultra-rarefied social class is incredibly jealous of Rachel and wants to bring her down.
