blade runner-inspired short film: abigail

Jason sends me this cool blog post about film student Emily Yoshida's UCLA thesis project Abigail, her homage to Ridley Scott's Blade Runner: A Young Filmmaker's Journey From Trek Fan To Blade Runner Acolyte.

The film follows a girl named Abigail and her friend Sam, who go to a party where reality mixes with the virtual world and you can't tell which is which. And then Abigail vanishes and Sam is left searching for her.

It's playing this weekend as part of the Science Fiction + Fantasy Short Film Festival in Seattle. I don't know if it's any good, but you can view the trailer here. If anything, I do like the song that's playing in the trailer. (Thanks, Jason.)
