New York! The Museum of Chinese in America will open its new location at 215 Centre Street on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 with a series of events designed to highlight the Museum's role as the leading museum dedicated to preserving and presenting the history and culture of people of Chinese descent in the United States. MOCA will have special hours during its free opening week:

Tuesday, September 22: 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm (last entry at 3:30 pm)

Wednesday, September 23: 11:00 am - 5:00 pm (last entry at 4:30 pm)

Thursday, September 24: 11:00 am - 5:00 pm (last entry at 4:30 pm)

Friday, September 25: 11:00 am - 5:00 pm (last entry at 4:30 pm)

Saturday, September 26: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm (last entry at 4:30 pm)

TWO WAYS TO GET YOUR FREE TICKETS FOR OPENING WEEK:
1) PICK UP AT MOCA ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 12 - 2 PM AND DURING MUSEUM HOURS ON SEPTEMBER 23-26.
2) ONLINE BEGINNING MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21
Please note that we are issuing time tickets for free opening week.

MOCA MEMBERS CAN GAIN ENTRY ANYTIME DURING OPENING HOURS. LOOK FOR THE MEMBERS SIGN WHEN YOU ARRIVE.

Monday, 11 am-5 pm;
Thursday, 11 am-9 pm;
Friday, 11 am-5 pm;
Saturday & Sunday, 10 am-5 pm
The Museum is closed to the public on Tuesday & Wednesday, except for prescheduled tours.

Admission
General Admission: $7
Seniors (65+ w/ID) and Students (w/school ID): $4
Children under 12 in groups less than 8: free
MOCA Members: Free
Also on September 22, the Museum will unveil its core exhibition,
With a Single Step: Stories in the Making of America," a history of the Chinese American experience, along with an art exhibition, "Here & Now: Chinese Artists in New York," featuring contemporary artists of Chinese descent living in New York.
