andrea wong stepping down from lifetime

Last week, news broke that Andrea Wong, president and CEO of Lifetime Networks, will be stepping down from the job before her contract expires in April: Lifetime CEO Andrea Wong to step down.

Wong, who started as programming exec at ABC, took on Lifetime's reins in 2007 and is credited with transforming the once-frumpy cable network into a showcase for splashy shows like Project Runway and Drop Dead Diva.

Last year, however, Lifetime was consolidated into the A&E Television Networks group -- a shift that stripped Wong of some of her authority. So the move was kind of expected. More here: Lifetime president and CEO Andrea Wong exits.
