matcha: shanghai jazz, april 1

It's time for another edition of MATCHA, the Asian Art Museum's bi-monthly music/art mixer series. This time, enjoy the museum's "Shanghai" exhibit with friends, jazzy tunes and, of course, cocktails. It's happening next Thursday, April 1 at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. Here are some details:
MATCHA: Shanghai Jazz
Thursday, April 1, 5-9 pm, $10 (includes entry to Shanghai)
Asian Art Museum

Dubbed "the boy Billie Holiday," special guest Coco Zhao will perform an intimate set of original works and old favorites. A unique heritage (both parents were in traditional Chinese opera) infuses his youthful interpretations; his distinct style mixes Mandarin vocals with contemporary jazz sounds. Based in Shanghai, his international appearances include the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Kennedy Center. There'll also be art activities (make your own print), cash bars, a talk on jazz in Asia, and docent conversations in special exhibition Shanghai. Please click here to hear some of Coco Zhao's songs.
Want to win free tickets to Thursday's event? The Asian Art Museum is giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky, randomly drawn winner. All you have to do is email asianartmuseumsf@gmail.com by Tuesday morning (March 30), with the subject line "I want to see Coco Zhao at MATCHA." You'll be contacted if you win.
