If you're in the Portland, here's a cool art show to check out featuring Los Angeles-based designer and illustrator Martin Hsu. He's the guy behind that cool Think Alternative shirt I wrote about a few months back. You can sort of describe his style as modernized renditions of Asian folkore and fantastical figures.
Martin will be displaying more than six original works painted on wood inspired by Taiwanese floral fabric, flower-picking ladies, and giant forest creatures. He'll also have shirts and books for sale, including his newest art publication Multigrain. The show runs October 7-31 at Compound Gallery in Portland. Here are some more details:
