what's your story? video challenge


The White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders has launched What's Your Story?, an online video challenge asking participants to submit personal stories about people who have had an impact on the people around them.

The goal is to explore the personal stories of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders across the country who have impacted their community through their dreams, experiences, and dedication to a cause. Check out this video for more information:



Participants are asked to submit a video describing unique experiences that have shaped who they are in less than three minutes:
WHAT'S YOUR STORY? VIDEO CHALLENGE
Be creative. Be inspirational. Be you.

In your video, tell us:

- How have your unique experiences shaped who you are today?

- What issues matter to you?
(i.e. arts, immigration, civil rights, public service, health, education etc.)

- In what ways are you making a difference in your community?

In 3 minutes or less, share your story as a:

- Music Video
- Public Service Announcement
- Short Film
- Video Blog
- Interview & more
**Essays will also be considered
All entries should showcase someone's work around a specific issue facing the AAPI community in under three minutes or with fewer than 1,000 words. Entries should be submitted online at www.whitehouse.gov/whatsyourstory by Tuesday, November 1st, 2011.

A select number of entries will be posted on the White House website and a group of exceptional leaders highlighted will be selected to attend a White House briefing this fall and given the opportunity to share their stories in-person. So get to work on those videos and tell your stories!
