Stan Lee (not Asian), the legend behind some of Marvel Comics' greatest superheroes, is launching an original new superhero for the Indian market: Stan Lee to Create Indian Comic Superhero 'Chakra - The Invincible.'
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lee is working with a team of Indian artists and writers at Liquid Comics on Chakra - The Invincible, which tells the story of a Mumbai teenage tech genius, Raju Rai, who develops an enhanced suit that activates mystical powers:
Chakra tells the story of an Indian teenager, Raju Rai, a technology genius living in Mumbai. Determined to use science to unlock the secrets of human potential, Raju develops a technically-enhanced suit that activates the mystical Chakras of the body, unleashing newfound abilities and powers.I hope this is good. I was intrigued but never got around to reading that Indian version of Spider-Man that Marvel launched a couple of years back.
"I'm incredibly excited to be collaborating with my friends at Liquid Comics and their best-in-class team of artists as we launch a great new, thrill-a-minute superhero saga named Chakra - The Invincible," said Stan Lee in a statement, adding, "Against the spectacular backdrop of the great Indian metropolis of Mumbai, we tell the incredible saga of Chakra, our daring and dangerous teenage hero."
Chakra, which will launch as a series of downloadable web and mobile comics, will be released in April 2012. For more information about Chakra, and to see some artwork, go to Graphic India here.
