Lewis Tan and Tzi Ma join the cast of 'Wu Assassins'

Netflix action crime series stars Iko Uwais and Byron Mann.

A Netflix martial arts action crime series about ancient triads and mystical assassins set in San Francisco's Chinatown, starring an Asian-centric cast? Count me in. It was recently announced that Lewis Tan and Tzi Ma have signed on as series regulars on Wu Assassins, alongside stars Iko Uwais and Byron Mann.

'Wu Assassins': Katheryn Winnick, Lewis Tan, Tommy Flanagan & Tzi Ma Join Netflix Martial Arts Drama

Wu Assassins stars Iko Uwais as Kai Jin, who becomes the latest and last Wu Assassin, chosen to round up the powers of an ancient triad and restore balance once again. You may remember watching Uwais kicking crazy amounts of ass in the The Raid movies, because your life was probably never quite the same again.

Byron Mann will play Uncle Six. I have no other information about this character, but it's likely much better than playing a character named Uncle #6. Mr. Mann has a ton acting credits, most recently in the feature film Skycraper, as well as major roles in The Expanse, Altered Carbon and the Canadian series Blood and Water.

Lewis Tan will play Lu Xin Lee, "a suave, fierce intelligent leader who owns and operates his own custom garage a la West Coast Customs and runs a car theft ring for the Triad." You may have seen Lewis as Gaius Cha in season three of Into the Badlands and as Shatterstar in Deadpool 2. He's also the guy who definitely should have gotten the title role of Marvel's Iron Fist, but that's old news.

Tzi Ma will portray Mr. Young, a kindly Chinatown grocer and a mentor to Kai. With a career spanning forty years, Mr. Ma is one of those Asian actors who's been in everything. Most recently he played Sandra Oh's father in Meditation Park, as well as roles in Skyscraper, Silicon Valley, Veep, and The Man in the High Castle.

The cast of Wu Assassins also includes some white people. Sometimes ya need 'em! Katheryn Winnick will play Christine "C.G." Gavin, an undercover cop caught in the middle of a Chinatown gang war. Tommy Flanagan is Alec McCullough, an international crime boss with a mysterious interest in Chinatown.

In addition to playing the lead, Uwais also will serve as producer, lead martial arts and fight choreographer and stunt coordinator on Wu Assassins. Hong Kong actor/director/producer Stephen Fung, who helped bring AMC's Into the Badlands to television, will direct the first two episodes.

I will watch the hell out of this.
