Good people of Los Angeles! Grand Performances invites you to a free outdoor event, 9066::13769 (Executive Orders that Exclude), an evening of films and live art addressing controversial executive orders, from those resulting in the internment of Japanese Americans during WWII to current threats aimed at Muslim Americans. There will be performances by #VigilantLOVE, Taz Ahmed, and traci kato-kiriyama, along with screenings of Tad Nakamura's Pilgrimage and other films, and post-show discussion led by Karen Ishizuka.

It's happening Thursday, August 10 at Grand Performances in Downtown Los Angeles. Here are some details:

Run River North at Grand Performances

Free outdoor concert on Friday, June 26 in Downtown Los Angeles



If you're in Los Angeles, you're invited to see one of my favorite bands, Run River North, as part of the free outdoor concert series Grand Performances. Come to downtown LA and enjoy the band's wild and warm indie folk sound. It's happening Friday, June 26 at Grand Performances at 350 South Grand Avenue. It looks they're doing a lunchtime show at noon, and then another show in the evening (with The Family Crest) at 8:00pm.

UnCabaret: Music & Conversational Comedy, July 12



Good people of Los Angeles! Treat yourself to a night of free music and conversational comedy this Friday, July 12 in Downtown's California Plaza. Alec Mapa, Kristina Wong, Suzanne Whang, Mary Beth Abella, and Charlene Deguzman are taking the stage for UnCabaret, performances exploring L.A. as the gateway for Asian immigration.
