Hey, Bay Area college students! Are you interested in pursuing a career in public service or community leadership? The Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association is currently searching for API college students for the APAPA Bay Area 2014 College Summer Internship Program.

The program provides an opportunity for students to work as staff interns in the offices of elected officials and policy orgs across the Bay Area, and developing skills and experience in leadership, public policy and civic engagement. Previous offices have included San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, Oakland Mayor Jean Quan, Assemblymember Phil Ting, and Congressman Mike Honda.

Leadership opportunity for undergraduate students, July 18-20 in Washington DC



SAALT (South Asian Americans Leading Together) is seeking 15-20 outstanding, diverse young leaders to join the 2014 Young Leaders Institute. Selected candidates will join other undergraduate students from across the United States this summer, July 18-20, for training in Washington, DC.

Institute participants will explore key issues affecting South Asians in the United States. This year's institute will focus on LGBTQ justice and allyship. You'll learn about social change movements and the intersections of identity and power, and develop leadership skills and resources to become agents of change.

Volunteer for the UC Berkeley SASC Summer Institute

Mentorship program for Southeast Asian high school students, June 18-22


This summer, UC Berkeley's Southeast Asian Student Coalition will be hosting its 2014 Summer Institute, a five-day educational and mentorship program for Southeast Asian high school youth to engage in workshops, dialogues, and a variety of peer-bonding activities promoting higher education, cultural awareness, and other subjects. The all-expense paid program runs June 18-22 at Cal.

SASC is currently looking for volunteers to help run the program. Duties may include (but are not limited to) driving and picking up mentees, cooking, cleaning, setting up, etc. They need your help to get this thing running smoothly and make it a rewarding experience for all participants.
