The Curious Case of the Racist Swan

The swan at the University of Warwick apparently only attacks ethnic minority students

You can file this one under weird, courtesy of the United Kingdom... Students at the University of Warwick in Coventry have apparently been under attack by a campus swan. But not just any swan -- a racist swan.

White wing supremacist: swan attacks foreign students

University officials recently erected a fence around a lake to stop the resident swan from attacking passing students. The weird thing is, the swan only seems to be attacking foreign students. This is what is actually being reported. The angry (ahem) white swan only appears to attack Indian and other minority students.

This "China Space Agency" comic strip is racist bulls%*t

Cartoonist Tony Hall dials up the racist jokes to 11 in his latest strip.

Got this passed along to me via Twitter... Well, I guess someone thought this was funny. Tony Hall, longtime cartoonist for the UK's Eastern Daily Press, decided to dial up the racism to 11 in his latest strip, set in the "China Space Agency." Buck-tooth caricatures, lazy mock English mispronunciation ("Uh-oh, tellible setback..."), and a planetary rover that inexplicably uses chopsticks to pick up "lock" samples.

The comic strip was spotted in the paper by Twitter user @paulcoxon, who snapped a photo and called it out as unacceptable. Or as I'd put it, blatant racist bullshit.

British woman has a migraine, wakes up with Chinese accent

No joke, Sarah Colwill suffers from "Foreign Accent Syndrome."

There's no other way to describe this than just plain weird. A woman from the United Kingdom goes to the hospital with a terrible headache. She comes out speaking with a Chinese accent. Whaaaaaat. According to BBC News: Plymouth woman 'woke up sounding Chinese.'

Three and a half years ago, 38-year-old Sarah Colwill was rushed to the hospital suffering from a severe migraine. When she woke up, she spoke with what can best be described as a "Chinese" accent. Colwill grew up in the English city of Plymouth, and has never been to China. I'm going to assume she hasn't spent a lot of time with Chinese non-native English speakers with a similar accent. But this apparently how she speaks now.

Colwill has been diagnosed with a rare speech impediment called Foreign Accent Syndrome:
