owl and the sparrow wins at los angeles film festival

Last week at the closing night ceremonies of the Los Angeles Film Festival, Stephane Gauger's Owl and the Sparrow took the audience award for narrative feature: L.A. fest crows over 'Owl'. Awesome. The film also won the award for Best Narrative Feature back in March at the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival. The film, set in Vietnam, is about a 10-year-old girl who escapes from her factory job and heads to Saigon, where she gradually assembles a makeshift family. Looks like it's definitely a film to watch. More on the LA Film Festival award here: 'Owl,' 'Resolved, 'Young' win at L.A. fest
