12th annual vancouver asian film festival

Didn't mean to forget about our friends in Vancouver! The Vancouver Asian Film Festival is happening right now, November 6-9. Things kicked off last night with the Opening Night screening of Jessica Yu's Ping Pong Playa, with the director and writer/star Jimmy Tsai in attendance. If you missed it, there will be an encore screening this Saturday night.

The festival continues on through the weekend with all sorts of great shorts and features, including Ron Morales' award-winning Santa Mesa, the Canadian premiere of Tuan Tran's Finding Madison, and Amyn Kaderali's romantic comedy Kissing Cousins, among others. Come out to the movies and check out something new and good and awesome.

Things wrap up on Sunday night with the Closing Night screening of Michael Kang's West 32nd. Star Grace Park, representin' for her country, will be attendance. Let me repeat that: Grace Park's gonna be there. For information, including schedule and ticket info, visit the festival website here.
