jollibee comes to new york

New York, rejoice. You're getting a Jollibee. Over the weekend, Filipino Americans in Woodside, Queens welcomed its very own Jolllibee, the Filipino fast food chain restaurant -- the first location on the East Coast: Fast Food for the Filipino Soul.

Serving up fast food staples like burgers and Chickenjoy, but also more regional dishes like smoked bangus or milkfish, this taste of ethnic goodness can be now found at the site of a former Mexican restaurant 63rd Street and Roosevelt Avenue.

For those who have never heard of the Filipino fast food giant, check out the official website here: Jollibee. A quick blog search reveals that this weekend's opening was a success, as evidenced in the mob scene photograph here.
