8th annual vietnamese interacting as one conference


Vietnamese American students! Short notice, but I wanted to make sure you heard about the Vietnamese Interacting As One (VIA-1) Conference happening this weekend, March 26-28 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Hundreds of students and young professionals will be coming together for workshops, speakers and networking opportunities, with the goal of making a positive impact on the Vietnamese American community. The theme for the conference this year is "From Possibility to Actuality." Here's some more info:

"From Possibility to Actuality"

The University of Wisconsin-Madison VSA, in collaboration with UVSA-Midwest, cordially invite you to the 2010 VIA-1 Conference.

During the conference, hundreds of students and young professionals participate in a multi-day event to hone their leadership skills, hold discussions with speakers, and explore issues in the Vietnamese-American youth community. By coming together, we can achieve solidarity as one group, to collaborate on issues concerning our communities and universities, and to encourage the growth of Vietnamese leaders.

The conference's keynote speakers are two guys I respect immensely: Lac Su, author of the memoir I Love Yous Are For White People, and Beau Sia, award-winning slam poet and writer.
